I Have The Worst Memory

November 6, 2016 0 comments

I have the worst memory! I am really bad at remembering things from my childhood and early school years. Some people... you know who you are… REMEMBER EVERYTHING. It blows my mind how people can remember so far back.
I once planned a game for youth group and had it set up so a certain teen would win, so I told him the question I would ask and told him the answer… the question was…when did Laura and I get married?  Easy right? WRONG! I told the teen what I thought was the right answer and he proudly said it for the win…but it was soon shot down by Laura saying, “That is NOT our wedding date.” Yikes… the teen then said, “Well, Andy told me what to say.”  So what if I also forgot that our wedding date is inscribed on the inside of my wedding ring!
One thing I love to think about and remember is how God has continually blessed me through out the years. I think the older you get (Tom can relate to this) the more of a blessing it is because you can see back farther how you have been blessed, or how you realize God has always been with you, or how things tend to work out in the big picture! And it becomes at great source of HOPE!
Also we read all through out the Bible God remembers us… crazy! When you think about His day-to-day monthly planner all that He has going on and He REMEMBERS us!  In Genesis 8 we see God remembering Noah, in Genesis God remembered Rachel, and in Hebrews 6 we see that God remembers us and the things we do!
Take some time and remember how good God is… if you don’t know where to start… Remember this… Romans 5:8-  "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
