I Love Me Some Thanksgiving

November 20, 2016 0 comments

I love me some Thanksgiving! I can remember doing Thanksgiving at our house when Laura and I were first married and we had no clue what to do with the turkey… so we cooked it upside down…on accident! I also enjoy a good meal, who doesn’t love some great food? It's always fun to see what everyone brings to the table…some of it is interesting.  I’m amazed at what gets put into jello…marshmallows, fruit snacks, pears, it gets weird.
I like this topic of “bringing something to the table.”  As I sit in my office I’m thinking about all that you bring to the table to make this a great church! We have an abundance of volunteers giving each and every week. There are a lot of you who bring things we don’t always get to see like when you visit people who need encouragement or call people to pray with them! Some of you take others out to eat, some bring meals on a regular basis, and some of you change diapers of kids who aren’t yours! Some of you sing, practice, vacuum, and prepare to make our services each week great!
I am so thankful for what you bring to the table because of your love Jesus! We pray that the love you have for Jesus continues to cause you to step out in faith and do big things for Him! I love my church… Laura and I have talked with a few Drs, specialists, social workers, therapists, counselors, and friends and one question we get asked a lot is… "Do you have a support system?” Our first answer is," WE HAVE AN AWESOME CHURCH FAMILY!" I love to brag on West Highland. Colossians 1:3-4 is what I am reminded of…"Our prayers for you are always spilling over into thanksgivings. We can’t quit thanking God our Father and Jesus our Messiah for you! We keep getting reports on your steady faith in Christ, our Jesus, and the love you continuously extend to all Christians."    (The Message)
