Thinking About Our Relationship...

We went to the mall last week with just the girls! It was not just the mall but Great Lakes Crossing… so we are talking about miles and miles of walking.

Bryleigh had some time to play in the kids play area… which P.S is saying “go a head and get sick” the whole area is gross to me…kids running around barefoot (EW), coughing, picking, wiping hands over everything, boogers everywhere… you can actually see the germs hi-five each other they are so happy…it’s just disgusting! Can we please agree on that? And side note… how much do they really disinfect it? Ok! Moving on…
She was having a blast running around, all of the sudden she comes running over to the stroller and says, “I need to check my phone” (this phone she talks of is...FAKE.) But she came over stopped every thing to open up her purse and get her fake phone out, open it… (it’s even a flip phone) look at it and then put it back…I thought this was absurd! I asked her if she got any texts or snaps…
I was thinking about this laughing and shaking my head because I got grossed out at the play area again…but how many times do we stop and check our very real relationship with Jesus? Do we have some one we can talk to about our relationship with Jesus to call us out on things we need to change or do or stop doing? Do we keep going knowing things are not ok?
This relationship with Jesus is the most important on you have. It should be more important than your spouse, kids, parents, etc. So lets stop once in a while and make sure we are pleasing Him. Like Paul prays for in Colossians 1:10 – “that this will help you live in a way that brings honor to the Lord and pleases Him in every way; that your life will produce good works of every kind and that you will grow in your knowledge of God.”
David straight up asked God in Psalm 139:23 to search his heart… that’s next level. Make it a priority this week…
In the words of the theologian Ice Cube…
“check yo self before you wreck yo self”
