Just A Thought: Redeeming The Time

"Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil."  - Ephesians 5:15-16
Our time here on earth should not be wasted. The reason given for redeeming time is the fact that the days in which we are living are evil. The world says "eat, drink, and be merry. Live according to what is right in your own eyes." But, God's Word says in 1 Peter 1:16, "Be Ye Holy for I am Holy." Wow! OK that’s something to consider.
Here’s another thought: The Bible says that your days are numbered. James 4:14 puts it this way, “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog - it's here a little while, then it's gone.”
So yes time is important - How do we redeem our time? Well- think about it. Life on earth will indeed one day end. Are you planning for life with God? Scripture says - What will it profit you if you have gained the whole world and lose your soul?
2 Corinthians 5:10 says, “For we must all stand before Christ to be judged." We all have a limited time on this earth. Seeing it is but a short time, we should be able to fully devote ourselves to God and His service. Each new day brings us 24 hours, each moment a precious gift from God. I would challenge you to make a daily effort to do something that is pushing you toward the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Live for eternity now. Earth is our only place of preparation. We have today - tomorrow is not promised. Redeem the time now! Stop saying, “If I had more time." You do have time! This year let’s make a new commitment to Jesus… All IN!
