Springtime Generosity

There is something so nice about spring time… maybe it’s because the snow is gone (hopefully) or maybe because you can feel the sunshine or maybe it’s because some color comes back to our yards… whatever it is… it’s awesome!

Many of us can get into a season of feeling down and out, sometimes it can last for a few hours or even a few weeks and it happens for a lot of different reasons.  What do you do when you are in this season of life?  I wonder if you ever consider being generous to others during this time of feeling down, discouraged, or worn out.

In Proverbs 11:25 Solomon writes… A generous person will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”

This is great!  When we are generous so much good happens in our own life and the life of others.  We have the opportunity to refresh others!  And when we do it automatically refreshes us.  There are a million (not exaggerating) ways to be generous.

SO if you are down, if you are tired, if you need to be lifted up, I would challenge you to look for ways to be generous to others. AND this is NOT just something to do when you are not at your best.  This shouldn’t even be a habit it should be who we are it just naturally flows out from us.

Let’s lead the way and set the example in generosity as a church and in our individual lives.  By the way…we have an awesome example of generosity in God through Jesus!  He continues to be generous to us every single day in His grace, forgiveness, etc. So, because our God is generous…we can be too… let’s DO THIS!  Look for ways starting today.
