The church is SO incredible!

The church is so incredible!  I understand that not every one can say that.  Some of us have had some pretty crappy experiences at church, and when you think about it, it should not surprise us at all.  The church is full of imperfect people (yes, that includes Pastor Tom).  When imperfect people get together there is going to be things that happen that might be hurtful or unkind.  BUT, when we (the church) get together and we have the same purpose it makes things so much more enjoyable. So what is the purpose of the church?
In Ephesians 3 Paul talks a lot about the church and what God’s plan for the church is. Check this out…"His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Ephesians 3:10-11).
There is so much packed into these two verses but I want to look at just a few things…notice God’s plan is THROUGH THE CHURCH His wisdom should be made known.  It doesn’t say it should be kept in and it doesn’t say we should be quiet.  We need to make this made known through the church, there are people outside these walls that don’t know that God is a good God and has great plans for their life and that Jesus died for them on the cross and we can live in freedom, there are people that don’t know that.  Paul is saying through the church we have got to get that message out!
The church is huge!  The church is crucial!  The church is God’s idea!  The church is what God wants to use to change and redeem the world.
If the church is that important to God…should the church be important to us? I believe that if you call yourself a Christian you should love the things that God loves, and that applies to the church.
Do you LOVE your church?
